Ukrainian épée fencers won the team competition final at the European Junior Championships in Tbilisi.
The Ukrainian team, consisting of Emily Conrad, Anna Maksymenko, Alina Dmytruk and Maria Sereda, defeated the Hungarian team. The first two rounds were evenly matched, with the Ukrainian team having a slight advantage. However, the next three matches ended in victory for the ‘blue and yellows’, who finished the match with a score of 45:37.
On their way to the final, the Ukrainian team defeated Norway (45:27) and Switzerland (45:19) in turn, and in the semi-final they defeated Estonia (45:30), according to Champion.
