Ukraine to receive EUR 20 million from Finland to support education reform

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Ville Tavio announced the allocation of 20 million euros to support educational reform in Ukraine and 500 thousand euros to reform school meals.

This was reported by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As noted, Tavio made this statement during the European Regional School Feeding Forum in Kyiv. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland plans to allocate 20 million euros to support Ukraine’s education sector in the period from 2025 to 2028.

It is known that the bilateral project will be aimed at implementing reforms in general secondary education, developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, and the National Agency for Education of Finland.

The reform will also include the development of a system of social protection for students and psychosocial support for students affected by the war.

In addition, during the event, it was announced that Finland would support the World Food Program’s school feeding program in Ukraine in the amount of 500 thousand euros in 2024.
