On the night of 5 July, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, together with other components of the Defence Forces, struck an important facility of Russia’s military-industrial complex — JSC VNIIR-Progress in Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, Russian Federation. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The target of the attack was the production facilities for the manufacture of Kometa adaptive antenna arrays. Such antennas are used in Shahed-type drones, Iskander-K missiles, unified planning and correction modules for guided aerial bombs (KAB) and other high-precision weapons, which Russia regularly uses to shell Ukraine, in particular civilian infrastructure.

The General Staff confirmed that the weapons reached the target area. The results of the attack are currently being clarified.

‘The defence forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine,’ the General Staff said in a statement.
