The European Union will provide Ukraine with 1.5 billion euros of aid every month as part of budget support. This was stated by EU Diplomacy Chief Kaja Kallas at a press conference after a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
According to her, this month the European Union has already allocated 4.2 billion euros to Ukraine to support the budget. Starting in January, the monthly assistance will amount to 1.5 billion euros.
Kallas also noted that the EU will continue to support Ukraine, including by training Ukrainian soldiers. However, she emphasized that to fight effectively, Ukraine needs additional resources, such as ammunition, more powerful air defense and support for the defense industry.
In total, the EU countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with €50 billion in budgetary assistance until 2027 under the Ukraine Facility program.
