The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said it had struck two oil pumping stations in Russia’s Vladimir region. According to the agency, the facilities are used to transport fuel to the Moscow Ring Oil Products Pipeline and support the export of petroleum products through the Baltic Sea.

The SBU announced the operation on Tuesday.

According to the agency, operators from the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center struck the Vtorovo and Lobkovo oil pumping stations, located about 700 kilometers from Ukraine.

The SBU said the stations are primarily used to pump diesel fuel into the Moscow Ring Oil Products Pipeline and to transport petroleum products for export, including through the Primorsk oil terminal on the Baltic Sea.

According to the agency, local authorities confirmed fires at two infrastructure facilities following the drone strikes.

The SBU also cited data from NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service, which recorded thermal anomalies in the areas where both oil pumping stations are located, indicating possible fires.

The security service stressed that such facilities are important elements of Russia’s fuel logistics network.

“Disrupting the operation of oil pumping stations complicates fuel supplies to industrial centers and military infrastructure and also negatively affects petroleum exports. Every such strike reduces the resource capabilities of the aggressor state and cuts revenues that the Kremlin uses to wage war against Ukraine,” the SBU said.
