A Russian drone attacked a Lozova-Kharkiv electric passenger train at Lymanivka station in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. A female passenger was killed and six other people, including an 11-year-old child, were injured.
Ukraine’s Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk reported the strike. Updated casualty figures were published by Suspilne Kharkiv, citing Lozova Mayor Serhii Zelenskyi.
The train was stopped in advance because of the drone threat, and passengers were evacuated. Most passengers and crew members moved a safe distance away from the railway infrastructure, but some people remained near the train.
A Russian drone, preliminarily identified as a “Geran”, then struck the train. One woman was killed at the scene.
Kalashnyk initially reported four people injured. The mayor later clarified that six people, including an 11-year-old child, required medical assistance.
Russian forces carried out a second strike on the same location about half an hour later. By then, everyone had been moved to a safe distance, and no one was injured in the second attack.
