        Russian army intensifies assaults in Kursk region

        The 1,185th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. From May 22 to 23, 141 combat clashes were recorded on the front line. Most of the attacks were repelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Pokrovsk. The Armed Forces repelled 44 attacks, 26 attacks were recorded in the Novopavlivka and Lyman directions, and 21 combat clashes took place in Kursk.

        This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

        During the day, the enemy launched two missile strikes and 56 air strikes, used four missiles, and dropped 130 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it carried out 5,879 shellings, including 164 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used about 3,000 kamikaze drones.

        The aggressor carried out air strikes on populated areas:

        • Velykyi Prykyl, Sumy region;
        • Mykolaivka, Chernihiv region;
        • Rublene, Milove, Kharkiv region;
        • Pokrovsk, Stepanivka, Novotoretske, Hnativka, Komar, Novoukrainka, Donetsk region;
        • Novodarivka, Huliaipole, Vysoke, Kamyanske, Novodanilivka, and Stepnogorsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.

        Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Siverskyi directions

        In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy made eight attempts to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk, Mala Shapkivka, and in the direction of Dovhenke.

        Yesterday, there were six attacks by invaders in the Kupiansk direction. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Kindrashivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, and in the direction of Pishchane.

        In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 12 times. They tried to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defenses in the areas of the settlements of Hrekivka, Novyi Mir, Torske, Lypove, and Ridkodub.

        In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance in the areas of Hryhorivka, Vyimka, and Bilohorivka.

        Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk directions

        In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked four times near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.

        In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out nine attacks near Romanivka, Toretsk, Dachne, and Diliivka.

        In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 44 assaults by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Nova Poltavka, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Malynivka, Zvirove, Kotlyarivka, Dachenske, Udachne, Troitske, Andriivka, as well as in the directions of the settlements of Oleksiivka, Promin, Shevchenko Pershe, and Myrolyubivka.

        Novopavlivka, Kursk, and other directions

        In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy carried out 14 attacks near Konstantynopil, Vilne Pole, and in the direction of Shevchenko and Novopol over the past day.

        In the Huliaipilska direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped one attempt by the invaders to advance near the settlement of Vysoke.

        In the Orikhiv direction, the occupying forces twice advanced on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the direction of Novodanilivka.

        Over the past day, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive operations in the Dnipro direction.

        In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

        Ukrainian defense forces continue their operation in the Kursk direction. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 16 airstrikes, dropping 23 guided bombs, and fired 230 shots, seven of which were from multiple launch rocket systems. Ukrainian defenders stopped 21 assault actions by the invaders.
