President Volodymyr Zelensky said that rescue operations continue in Kyiv and the wider region after a massive Russian attack that targeted the capital and surrounding areas. According to him, six people have been killed and thirteen injured in the city. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure have been damaged.
The president noted that there is also destruction in the Odesa region, where Russia struck ports, food facilities and infrastructure “with no military purpose whatsoever.” The Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Cherkasy regions also came under attack. Zelensky said the main targets were energy facilities and everything that ensures normal life for civilians.
Russia used 22 missiles of various types, including aeroballistic missiles, and more than 460 drones, most of them Shahed attack drones. Zelensky also reported that four drones flew toward Moldova and Romania, with Ukraine having the exact times of their flight paths.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine’s partners must save lives every day by providing weapons, air defense systems and maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia. He emphasized that there can be no pauses in assistance to Ukraine.
The president also called for joint diplomatic efforts to increase pressure on Russia: “Pressure on the aggressor must work. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine.”
