45% of Ukrainians believe that Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election brings peace closer, according to a poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology. Of these, 15% are convinced that peace will become much closer, and another 30% believe that it will only get a little closer.
At the same time, 14% of respondents believe that peace will become more distant: 5% of them say it will become much further away, 9% – somewhat. 40% of respondents believe that the situation will not change or were not able to determine their opinion.
Regarding the fairness of the future peace for Ukraine, 7% believe in a completely fair peace, and 11% are convinced that it will be unjust. In general, 23% believe that the peace under Trump will be mostly or completely fair for Ukraine, while 31% see it as mostly unfair.
The survey was conducted by KIIS from December 2 to 17, 2024. It polled 985 respondents – citizens of Ukraine (aged 18 and older).
