The government has appointed Oleksandr Borniakov as acting minister of digital transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported.
Prior to his appointment, Borniakov served as deputy minister for European integration and previously oversaw IT development. He has been part of the ministry’s team since 2019 and was among those who laid the foundation for its work.
The ministry said Borniakov was involved in launching and developing projects such as Diia.City, Diia.City Invest, uResidency, IT Generation, CodeUA and Sandbox. Officials noted that he knows the system from the inside, so no pauses in the ministry’s work or adaptation period are expected.
The main focus of the acting minister’s work will be integrating Ukraine into the EU’s Single Digital Market.
