Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said the situation around the country remains stable, with no signs of preparations for aggression. According to him, there are also no indications that Ukrainian units covering the border are preparing for active operations.

Viktor Khrenin made the statement after reporting to Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian outlet BelTA reports.

Khrenin spoke about military training in the Armed Forces of Belarus and the situation around the country. According to him, the Belarusian side does not see significant activity by the armed forces of NATO countries. He said that only a minimal number of exercises and flights are taking place in neighboring states.

“That is why we consider the situation around Belarus stable, and we do not see any threat, tension or preparations for a surprise attack,” he said.

Speaking about the southern border, Khrenin said there were no signs that Ukrainian formations were preparing for aggressive actions.

“As of today, we do not see Ukrainian formations that are covering their border preparing for any aggressive active actions,” the minister said.

At the same time, he noted that Belarus continues to monitor the situation. A minimal number of special operations forces units remain on the southern border and, together with border guards, are responsible for security in the border area.

According to Khrenin, personnel training is taking place as planned, taking into account the conclusions drawn after a comprehensive inspection at the beginning of the year.
