Poltava: rescue operations continue
Rescue operations continue in Poltava after a nighttime attack. As of now, 17 people have been reported injured, all of whom have been provided with medical care. Twenty-two people have been rescued, but more people are still being searched for under the rubble. The death toll has now risen to 8. The President expressed condolences to their families and friends.
The scale of the attack
According to Zelenskyy, Russia fired 165 missiles and drones of various types at Ukraine overnight alone. Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions came under fire.
Odesa: destruction of historical heritage
Reconstruction work continues in Odesa after a missile strike damaged the city’s historic centre. Museums, the Philharmonic, landmark buildings and a famous hotel were damaged. Not only Ukrainians, but also Norwegian diplomats working in Ukraine were also hit.
Call for stronger sanctions
The President stressed that Russia would not be able to carry out such intense attacks without access to critical components from abroad. Zelenskyy called for tougher sanctions that cannot be circumvented to make it impossible for Russia to produce missiles and drones.
