The SBU detained a Russian agent in Khmelnytskyi who was trying to plant explosives near the units of the Defense Forces.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
“Among the priority targets of the enemy were reserve command posts and places of permanent deployment of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine,” the statement said.
The detention of the agent occurred during his reconnaissance near the military facility where the explosion was to take place. A cell phone with an anonymous chat room where he was communicating with a Russian curator was seized from him.
It turned out that the agent was a 32-year-old drug addict from Khmelnytskyi who came to the attention of the occupiers because he was looking for “quick money” on Telegram channels.
According to the investigation, the detainee is suspected of high treason and disseminating information about the movement of the Armed Forces. The offender faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
