Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko reported on the results of an urgent coordination meeting of the G7+ group on energy support for Ukraine. Partners confirmed new assistance packages aimed at restoring the country’s energy infrastructure.
According to Yuliia Svyrydenko, government officials briefed partners on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy sector and the most pressing needs for restoring energy infrastructure. She expressed gratitude to allies for the assistance already provided and the support expected to arrive in the near future.
Partners announced and confirmed new support packages that include more than 6,000 units of large-scale energy equipment as well as contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. In particular, the European Union will provide 447 generators, Italy will contribute €10 million to the Fund and has earmarked an additional €50 million in its 2026 budget, while Lithuania will supply 90 generators.
Germany announced €60 million in support along with additional equipment, including 33 cogeneration units, 15 mobile hybrid generators, 300 photovoltaic systems, 375 battery units, 31 boiler units, 45 pieces of construction equipment and 10 boilers. The United Kingdom confirmed a contribution of nearly €23 million to the Energy Support Fund.
The United States will allocate more than $400 million for humanitarian projects to support Ukrainians. France will provide more than 100 generators with a total capacity of 13 MW, while Japan will supply 140 small and medium-capacity generators, 60 small and medium transformers, repair equipment, two cogeneration units and 13 sets of frequency converters.
The prime minister also invited meeting participants to visit Ukraine to see firsthand the consequences of Russian shelling and its impact on people’s lives.
