On the night of October 4, Russian occupiers launched a massive drone strike on the Chernihiv region. Several important power supply facilities were damaged. Emergency power cuts affected about 50,000 consumers.
This was reported by Chernihivoblenergo JSC.
Rescue workers are currently dealing with the aftermath of the strike on the infrastructure facility in Chernihiv. Power engineers have begun restoration work. At the same time, hourly power outages continue in the region according to a “three on, three off” schedule, meaning that power is supplied for three hours and then cut off for another three.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure that there are no additional outages, despite the situation. Moreover, we hope that the outages will be even less severe during off-peak hours,” the statement said.
Also, in the early morning, the Russians attacked the center of Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region. According to the head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Seliverstov, the strike caused a fire in an uninhabited building and damaged nearby houses. The aftermath is still being dealt with. So far, there are no reports of injuries.
