        Drone attack on Volgograd region: oil refinery targeted

        On the night of 8 February, drones attacked an oil refinery in the Kumilzhensky district of Volgograd region of Russia.

        This was announced by the governor of the region, Andrey Bocharov, who noted that there were no consequences.

        According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Russian air defence repelled the attack, and firefighters and the Emergency Situations Ministry promptly arrived at the scene. The ministry said there was no fire.

        Earlier in the night, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. Local residents reported the sounds of drones and bright flashes in the sky. Subsequently, monitoring channels noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were probably trying to attack an oil pumping station in the suburb of Chortkovo, Rostov Region.
