Today, April 11, 182 Ukrainians were returned from Russian captivity, including 175 military personnel and seven civilians. Most of those released had been held captive since 2022, and more than half were taken prisoner in Mariupol.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

In total, as part of the 72nd exchange, 175 military personnel and seven Ukrainian civilians were returned from Russian captivity. Nearly all of those released had been held captive since 2022. Twenty-five officers whom the Russian side had previously refused to exchange were successfully freed.

More than half of the servicemen were captured during the defense of Mariupol. Among them are also National Guard members who were captured during the occupation of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant at the start of the full-scale invasion. The ages of those released range from 22 to 63.

The military personnel include representatives of the Navy, Army, Territorial Defense, Airborne Assault Forces, Military Law Enforcement Service, Air Force, Unmanned Systems Forces, National Guard, and State Border Guard Service.

In addition, seven civilians who were captured in 2022 have returned from captivity.

All those released will undergo medical examinations and treatment, receive necessary assistance and payments, and undergo rehabilitation and reintegration following their captivity.
