Centrenergo reported that Ukraine suffered the most massive strike on its thermal power plants since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to the company, an unprecedented number of missiles and countless drones — several per minute — targeted the same facilities that had been restored after the devastating attack of 2024. Statement by Centrenergo on Facebook.

The company said that, for safety reasons, it had remained silent but worked tirelessly to ensure Ukrainians had light and heat last winter and successfully started the current heating season. Less than a month after the previous strike, the enemy launched a simultaneous attack on the entire power generation system overnight — the stations are on fire, and generation has dropped to zero.

Centrenergo emphasized that its thermal power plants are not military facilities and are operated by civilians. “We have stopped… Currently, generation is down to zero. We lost everything we had been rebuilding around the clock — completely,” the statement said. The company added that despite increasingly brutal and cynical attacks, it will continue to do what it does best: rebuild, repair, and restore generation. “Ukraine is unbreakable. Ukrainians cannot be broken.”
