Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on social media that after talking with US President Donald Trump, he further coordinated positions with European leaders.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine’s key demands are clear: achieving real and lasting peace, not just another pause between Russian invasions. He stressed the need to end hostilities as soon as possible and to release all Ukrainian prisoners of war, civilian hostages and children abducted by Russia.
The head of state stressed that pressure on Russia must be maintained as long as the aggression and occupation continue. In a conversation with Trump, he stated the need to strengthen sanctions in the event of a breakdown of the trilateral meeting or Moscow’s evasion of an honest end to the war.
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine’s security issues must be guaranteed reliably and in the long term – with the participation of both Europe and the United States. At the same time, no issue, including territorial issues, can be resolved without Ukraine.
The president thanked his partners for their support and noted the statement by European leaders, which, in his words, strengthens Ukraine’s position.
