As of 15 December, the situation in Ukraine’s energy system remains difficult but under control. This was announced on the national marathon programme ‘Yedyni Novyny’ by Anatoliy Zamulko, acting head of the State Energy Regulatory Commission.
According to him, the massive attacks that took place on Saturday and are repeated daily are reducing the reliability of electricity supply to consumers. The largest outages have been recorded in southern Ukraine – in Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. Currently, about 430,000 consumers remain without electricity, and energy companies are continuing restoration work.
The situation also remains difficult in the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, where prolonged power outages are being implemented due to a lack of generation. According to Zamulko, specialists are working to increase the volume of electricity supply in these regions.
He noted that balancing the power system is complicated due to damage to powerful networks and facilities of NPC Ukrenergo, which directly affects electricity supply schedules. At the same time, emergency repair work is being carried out around the clock.
According to the head of the State Energy Regulatory Commission, power outage schedules are constantly being revised in order to minimise inconvenience to the population and ensure the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities.
