President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the United States have agreed to try to organize diplomatic dialogue based on the current front line. He announced this in his evening address.

“We held a meeting with the President of the United States of America, and we agreed that this is how we will try to organize dialogue — along the line that exists now. This was the signal from President Trump to his team. It was also made public,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, the front line could become the beginning of diplomacy, while Russia is once again doing everything to avoid it. The president emphasized that the issue of long-range weapons has become a key factor in influencing the Kremlin: “The more Ukrainian long-range capability, the greater Russia’s willingness to end the war.”

Zelenskyy also announced that Ukraine is preparing to sign a new defense agreement with European partners, which will become part of a long-term security guarantee system for the country. “It will be a good and in many ways entirely new agreement on our defense capabilities,” he noted.

The president stressed that Ukraine’s priority remains strengthening air defense and expanding access to long-range weapon systems.
