This year, for the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, there has been a noticeable decline in Russian oil production and processing. Russia will lose at least $37 billion in budgetary oil and gas revenues.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a report by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleg Ivashchenko.
“Oil and gas revenues in the Russian budget are declining, and by the end of this year, Russia will lose at least $37 billion in budget oil and gas revenues. Russian oil companies and the energy sector as a whole are losing tens of billions of dollars more. All this limits the Russian war machine,” the statement said.
Zelenskyy emphasized the effectiveness of both conventional sanctions against Russia and Ukrainian long-range sanctions, particularly in terms of strikes on Russian oil fleet vessels.
“The directions for our further sanctions pressure have also been determined. I would like to thank all our partners who are delivering entirely justified legal blows to the vessels of the Russian oil fleet – the Russians are already using fewer tankers,” the president said.
Zelenskyy also discussed with the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine measures to return Ukrainian children who were abducted by Russians, as well as other operations abroad.
