Zelenskyy Confirms Strikes on Oil Facility Near Yaroslavl and Azot Chemical Plant in Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that a number of key facilities in Russia and in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine were successfully struck as part of Ukraine’s long-range strike campaign.

According to Zelenskyy, operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) hit an oil facility in Russia’s Yaroslavl region that was important to the aggressor state’s strategic reserves.

“More than 700 kilometers from our state border, in Russia’s Yaroslavl region, SBU personnel struck an oil facility that was important for the reserves of the aggressor state,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also confirmed that Ukrainian forces hit the Azot enterprise in Russia’s Tula region. He noted that the facility plays a role in supporting the production of explosive materials.

According to Zelenskyy, restrictions on air traffic were imposed at six Russian airports following the attacks, while air raid alerts were declared in 28 regions across Russia.

The president also reported successful strikes against Russian military logistics infrastructure in temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is continuing to implement its strategy of “long-range sanctions” against Russia and is carrying out planned long-range and mid-strike operations in response to Moscow’s refusal to end the war.

“We offered Russia’s leadership every possible format for negotiations, and the response was only continued aggression and attempts to expand it. It is logical that the war is returning to where it came from,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president emphasized that Ukraine seeks peace but will continue targeting facilities that support Russia’s war effort against Ukraine.
