The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced a successful strike on the Tamanneftegaz oil and gas terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

According to the SBU, the operation was carried out by the Alpha Special Operations Center in cooperation with units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR).

The agency stated that Tamanneftegaz is the largest liquefied hydrocarbon transshipment complex in southern Russia.

According to the SBU, Ukrainian drones struck five fuel storage tanks within the terminal’s tank farm, as well as two oil loading facilities.

The SBU also reported fires in the area of the truck parking zone and warehouse infrastructure of the complex. In addition, Russian air defense positions protecting the facility were reportedly hit during the attack.

The security service emphasized that Russia’s oil and gas infrastructure is one of the main sources of funding for the war against Ukraine and therefore remains a legitimate target for Ukrainian forces.
