Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a new package of sanctions. The announcement was made in his latest public address.
Zelensky said that Russia continues trying to drag out the war and justify the occupation of Ukrainian territories, including through propaganda and political gestures. He pointed in particular to Russia’s recent symbolic move to impose “sanctions” on Ukrainian officials, including Ukraine’s Prime Minister.
According to the President, such behavior from Moscow requires stronger global pressure. Ukraine will also propose new coordinated sanctions to its international partners — both against the financial networks fueling Russia’s war machine and against those who promote narratives aimed at undermining efforts toward real peace.
The new Ukrainian sanctions list includes:
- Individuals working in Russian government structures involved in the looting of occupied Ukrainian territories;
- One of Putin’s financial intermediaries;
- A Russian military intelligence official;
- A collaborator;
- Russian publishing houses engaged in distributing propaganda and justifying aggression.
“Everything in Russia that is oriented toward war must be blocked,” Zelensky stated.
He also expressed gratitude to all international partners who continue to support Ukraine.
