Zelensky on overnight strikes on Ukraine: Russian killers have returned to their usual business

‘After everything said in Kazan (referring to the BRICS summit – ed.), Russian killers returned to their usual business. And this proves once again that aggression can be stopped not by talk, but only by decisive actions in defence of the state and people against whom war has been unleashed,’ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a post on social media.

According to him, over the past evening and night Russian troops have struck Kiev, Dnipro, Sumy, Khmelnitsky and our other regions.

‘In Dnipro, one of Ukraine’s most important hospitals – the Mechnikov Hospital – and ordinary residential buildings were damaged. Unfortunately, three people died, and among them a child. In Kiev, this Russian strike claimed the life of a girl – she was only 14 years old. My condolences to the family and friends. There are many wounded from these strikes. All of them have been given the necessary help,’ he wrote.

Zelensky also reminded that the war, which is now in its third year, has only one culprit – Moscow.

‘That is why it is necessary (to) put such pressure on the aggressor, which is able to force him to stop terror and war. Reliable peace and security are only acquired through strength and determination.’
