President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the nighttime Russian shelling, emphasising the need to strengthen air defence. He wrote about this on social media.
According to him, the enemy attacked Ukrainian cities with various types of weapons: missiles, attack drones and bombs. As a result of the shelling in Poltava, a residential building was hit, and the entrance was completely destroyed. Three people were killed and ten others were injured, including children.
Strikes were also recorded in Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky and Kyiv regions. At least six people were reported injured. One person died in Kharkiv due to a kamikaze drone attack, and two more in Sumy region.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine needs more support from its partners in defending itself against Russian terror. ‘Every air defence system, every anti-missile is a lifesaver,’ the president said, calling on allies to fulfil agreements and increase pressure on Russia.
