        Weather in Ukraine on August 17: thunderstorms, hail, and squalls in several regions

        According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on August 17, partly cloudy weather is expected across Ukraine. Short-term showers with thunderstorms are forecast in the northern and most central regions, as well as in Zakarpattia, Prykarpattia, and Khmelnytskyi region. Hail and wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are possible in some areas. No precipitation is expected in other regions.

        Winds will be southwesterly, shifting to northwesterly during the day in the western and northern regions, 5-10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from 14-19°C; daytime temperatures will reach 23-28°C in western and northern regions, and 27-32°C in the rest of the country.

        In Kyiv and Kyiv region, partly cloudy weather with short showers and thunderstorms is expected. Some areas may experience hail and wind gusts up to 20 m/s. Temperatures in the region will be 14-19°C at night and 23-28°C during the day. In Kyiv, 17-19°C at night and 26-28°C during the day.

        The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning for hazardous weather events of the first (yellow) level. On August 17, weather conditions may complicate the work of energy, construction, and utility services, as well as transport operations.
