Ukrainian restaurant Slava Ukraina set on fire in Tallinn

31 January 2025 16:45

On the night of January 31, a Ukrainian restaurant Slava Ukraina was set on fire in Tallinn, Estonian broadcaster ERR reports.

The fire alarm went off at 4:45 am, the rescue center reported. Rescuers who arrived at the scene extinguished the fire on the first floor of the building where the restaurant is located.

The police confirmed that, according to preliminary data, it was arson and are investigating the incident as property destruction.

The restaurant’s owner, Mart Luik, said that CCTV footage showed a “deliberate and conscious act.” Although the fire caused localized damage, the main damage to the restaurant was caused by the water used to extinguish the fire.

“The police have video footage, and we hope they will be able to find the culprit. It looks like an action against Ukraine,” Luik said.

The establishment temporarily closed its doors, as reported on social media.
