Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova held her first meeting with Keith Kellogg, who was appointed by U.S. President Donald Trump as special envoy for Ukraine and Russia.

She reported this on Facebook.

Markarova noted that a “thorough discussion” took place during the meeting, but did not disclose any details. The conversation was also attended by Ukraine’s Defense Attaché Borys Kremenetskyi and his deputy Denys Sienik.

The head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, also spoke with Keith Kellogg. They discussed Kellogg’s visit to Ukraine.

“We discussed his upcoming visit to Ukraine, which is very important for us. A just and sustainable peace is a priority for Ukraine,” Yermak wrote.

He said that he and Kellogg also talked about the situation at the front and the safety of the civilian population of Ukraine.

Donald Trump chose Kellogg as his special envoy in November 2024. The US media described the details of Kellogg’s plan, according to which he proposes a ceasefire on the current front line, and the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine may depend on its readiness to negotiate.

His plan also provides for the postponement of Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the return of the occupied territories exclusively through diplomatic means.
