In the first half of 2026, supplies of missiles for Ukraine’s air defense systems fell threefold compared with 2025. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s partners have the missiles, but political decisions are needed to deliver them and accelerate production.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the statement after a meeting with military officials, the Ministry of Defense, the Security Service of Ukraine, military intelligence and the Presidential Office.
“Unfortunately, supplies of anti-ballistic capabilities from our partners have fallen significantly this year. The number of air defense missiles being delivered has fallen threefold compared with 2025. This concerns not only the summer period but every period of the first half of 2026,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that Ukraine’s partners have the missiles and that political decisions are therefore needed to ensure deliveries and accelerate production, including by localizing manufacturing in Ukraine.
The meeting also included reports by Mykhailo Drapatyi, Ihor Skybiuk and Yevhenii Khmara on the situation at the front and key supply needs.
“The greatest attention is now, of course, focused on Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk. Mykhailo reported on the strength and capabilities of the units deployed in the area, as well as the key objectives and tasks being carried out. Yevhenii Khmara outlined the needs for drones and funding that must be met without delay. We determined which active measures will be implemented in the Donetsk region and on several other sections of the front,” Zelenskyy said.
Additional steps to protect infrastructure facilities in Ukraine were also determined.
