Ukraine has signed an agreement with Swift Beat, a company founded by a former Google executive, to jointly produce unmanned aerial vehicles. Specifically, these will be interceptor drones designed to counteract ‘shahids.’

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

‘This is a document on co-production between Ukraine and the United States. There will be several campaigns. They will focus on different types of drones. But the most important thing is this year and next year. This year — hundreds of thousands. And next year — there will be an increase,’ Zelensky said.

The president emphasised that the main component of the document is the production of interceptor drones, which have already proven their effectiveness in Ukraine.

‘We have now signed a very serious contract. We are counting on shooting down a large number of “shahids”. Therefore, I believe that this is a good start – to work in this direction,’ the head of state said.

Swift Beat specialises in the development of innovative autonomous systems. The company is expected to provide Ukrainian manufacturers with software solutions for integration into unmanned systems, including automation technologies, autonomous navigation and target acquisition systems.

The CEO of the American company Swift Beat is former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
