The Security Service of Ukraine has promised Russia a “painful response” to the strike on the SBU Central Directorate building in Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the geography of the future actions has already been determined and that the timing will be chosen to ensure results.
The SBU and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this separately.
“The Russians will receive a painful response to their strikes — even more special operations, exposed agent networks and destroyed enemies,” the Security Service said.
Zelensky later said he had received a report from SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad on preparations for “active actions” in response to Russian strikes.
“The geography of the response has been determined. The timing will be chosen so that there is a result,” the president said.
Earlier, the SBU said that the Russian drone that struck the Service’s Central Directorate building in Kyiv on September 4 had been deliberately directed at Poklad’s office.
The SBU chief was not injured in the attack.
The Security Service also said the damaged Central Directorate building would be restored.
