The Ukrainian Navy carried out a missile strike using the Neptune missile system against the Marinovka airfield in Russia’s Volgograd region. The attack destroyed two Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers, which are used to launch guided aerial bombs at targets in Ukraine.

The strike was confirmed by the Ukrainian Navy.

Ukrainian naval units used the coastal-based Neptune missile system to strike Russian aircraft stationed at Marinovka airfield near the settlement of Oktyabrsky in the Volgograd region.

The missile strike destroyed two Su-34 fighter-bombers at the base of the 11th Composite Aviation Regiment, part of the 4th Composite Aviation Division of Russia’s 4th Air and Air Defense Forces Army.

The Su-34 is one of the main aircraft used by Russia’s tactical aviation to launch guided aerial bombs against Ukrainian cities, Defense Forces positions and frontline areas.

Earlier, Russian Telegram channels reported that the strike on Marinovka airfield had destroyed two Su-34 aircraft, killed two Russian servicemen and wounded two others.

Earlier in the morning, the Exilenova+ monitoring channel reported that NASA’s Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) had detected a fire on the airfield’s grounds.
