Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-installed head of the occupied part of Kherson region, has claimed that the bridge across the Chonhar Strait was damaged again following an overnight drone attack.

According to him, traffic across the bridge has once again been suspended. Emergency and technical services are working at the site, while drivers are being advised to use alternative routes through Armyansk and Perekop.

Saldo also claimed that Russian air defense forces and mobile fire groups allegedly shot down more than 20 drones approaching the bridge. He said the strikes were aimed at disrupting transportation links.

A day earlier, on June 8, Saldo reported that traffic on the damaged bridge across the Chonhar Strait had resumed in reverse-mode operation following a previous drone attack.

The Chonhar Bridge is one of the key transport links between the occupied part of Kherson region and Crimea.
