In 2024, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation investigated 287 cases related to the illegal transportation of persons across the state border. Suspicions were served on 121 people, and 61 indictments were sent to court against 96 people.
According to the SBI press service, most of these schemes are created by officials, including employees of military registration and enlistment offices, the Medical and Social Expert Commission, doctors, and law enforcement officers. The most common scheme is falsification of diagnoses for deregistration.
The total amount of documented bribes during the investigations is UAH 11 million 400 thousand.
