The Ukrainian Defence Forces (UDF) continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops, preventing them from advancing deeper into the country. As of 16:00 on 15 March, 81 firefights took place. This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Today, settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, including Medvedivka, Karpovychi, Yanzhulivka, Vovkivka, Rozhkovichi, Komarivka, Baranovka, Shalygino and Dmitrivka, came under enemy fire. In the Kharkiv sector, there were four engagements near Vovchansk, one of which is ongoing. In the Kupyansk sector, Russian troops are trying to break through the defences near Zahryzove, and the fighting continues.
In the Liman sector, the invaders carried out ten attacks near Balka Zhuravka, Ivanivka, Yampolivka and Hryhorivka during the day, two of the battles are still ongoing. In the Siversky sector, Ukrainian troops repelled an attack near Verkhnekamianske. In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy tried to advance near Orikhovo-Vasylivka but was stopped.
In the Toretsk sector, our defenders repelled eight enemy attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Druzhba, four battles are still ongoing. In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy tried to break through the defences 21 times in the areas of Sukhoi Balka, Oleksandropol, Novotoretske, Yelizavetivka, Svyrydonivka, Promen, Serhiivka, Kotlynove, Uspenivka, Nadiyivka and Andriivka. Ukrainian defence forces repelled 20 attacks, one battle is still ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy tried to break through the defences near Rozlyv seven times, and three battles are still ongoing. In the Gulyaypol sector, fighting continues in the area of Novopil, and the enemy, supported by attack aircraft, also fired unguided missiles at Gulyaypol.
In the Prydniprovsky sector, the enemy launched four attacks that resulted in losses. In the Kursk sector, 11 combat engagements took place, three of them are still ongoing. The enemy carried out 21 air strikes, dropped 32 guided aerial bombs and fired 150 times at our positions and settlements.
The situation in other sectors remains unchanged. The defence forces continue to hold their positions and destroy the enemy.
