Telegram channel Mash reports that AFU drones have attacked Russia’s only fibre optic plant in Saransk, where, according to preliminary reports, a fire has started. The Russian Defence Ministry and local authorities have not commented on the information.

According to Mash, ‘PD-2 UAVs fly at a low altitude – about 30-50 metres’. Such drones can fly over a distance of more than a thousand kilometres.

Earlier, Telegram channel SHOT reported that an air defence system was triggered in Saransk, about 10 explosions were heard. SHOT specified that the target of the AFU attack could be a local factory, the explosions began at about 02:20.

SHOT also wrote that Donetsk is experiencing one of the most massive attacks by AFU drones in recent times, with residents reporting dozens of explosions. According to SHOT, air defence systems are working in the city, with several aerial targets allegedly shot down near the Donbass Arena stadium and over the centre of Donetsk, as well as over Makeyevka and Horlivka. The Russian Defence Ministry and local authorities did not comment on the information.
