Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has effectively rejected Ukraine’s proposal for a 30-day truce, saying that it is impossible without ‘resolving all the details.’
His words were quoted by Russian state media.
In addition, Peskov said that Ukraine had allegedly not responded to Russia’s proposal for a temporary ceasefire during the May 9 celebrations.
On 28 April, Vladimir Putin proposed a ceasefire from 00:00 on 8 May to 00:00 on 11 May.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ceasefire could be implemented immediately and for a longer period if there was a real will to do so.
‘Why wait until 8 May? If the ceasefire can be implemented now and for 30 days from any date, then it is realistic, and not just for the parade,’ the Foreign Ministry said.
