Russian forces have intensified their offensive efforts on the front line but have lost more than 8,000 troops killed and seriously wounded over the past week. Ukrainian forces continue to destroy enemy units and are preparing new operations.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov.

According to him, Russian forces are trying to take advantage of more favorable weather conditions to increase offensive activity, but this has only led to higher losses.

Ukraine also reports that Russian command has discovered discrepancies between the actual positions of its units and official reports. Some brigade-level commanders have already been replaced as punishment for false reporting.

In Donetsk region, the situation has not significantly changed, while in Kharkiv region and border communities of Sumy region, attempts by Russian forces to advance from the border have been recorded. Ukrainian forces are eliminating these units.

Zelenskyy also highlighted active operations by Ukrainian assault and airborne units in the Oleksandrivka direction.

The president noted the effectiveness of strikes on enemy rear positions and approved a number of new operations.
