Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has announced a ’ceasefire on the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.’

It is supposed to last from midnight on 7 May to midnight on 10 May, according to the Kremlin.

‘All hostilities will cease during this period. Russia believes that the Ukrainian side should follow suit,’ the Kremlin statement said.

The aggressor country Russia claims that it is ready for peace talks without preconditions, ’aimed at eliminating the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis.’

On 19 April, Russian President Vladimir Putin had already announced a so-called Easter ‘ceasefire,’ which was to be in effect from 6 p.m. on 19 April to midnight on 21 April.

During this time, the Russians continued their assaults and shelling on the front lines, but no air raid alerts were announced in Ukrainian regions on 20 April. Therefore, Zelensky proposed that Russia extend this ceasefire for 30 days, refraining from using long-range drones and missiles against civilian infrastructure, but Russia refused.
