On the night of 24 August 2025, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces, inflicted fire damage on an enemy fuel and energy infrastructure facility — the Syzran oil refinery (Samara Region, Russian Federation).
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Syzran Oil Refinery has a design capacity of up to 8.5 million tonnes of oil per year, which is about 3.08% of the total oil refining volume in the Russian Federation.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian drones attacked an industrial enterprise in Syzran, Samara Region. The local governor did not specify which enterprise it was, but according to the Astra Telegram channel, it was the Syzran Oil Refinery.
