According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night of October 19 Ukrainian forces successfully struck the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region. Multiple explosions and a large fire were reported at the site.

Preliminary data indicate that the refinery’s primary oil processing units (ELOU-AVT) were hit. The plant produces over 20 types of petroleum products, with an annual refining capacity of about 4.9 million tons. The facility is used to support the needs of the Russian military.

Ukrainian forces also targeted the Orenburg gas processing plant, one of Russia’s largest facilities of its kind. It is capable of processing up to 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas and more than 6 million tons of condensate per year. Explosions and a large fire were reported at the site, with one of the gas purification and processing units reportedly damaged.

In addition, a fuel and lubricants storage base in temporarily occupied Berdyansk was hit. Explosions and a fire were observed in the area of the target.

The General Staff emphasized that Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to systematically destroy critical enterprises that support Russia’s military machine — part of ongoing efforts to degrade the aggressor state’s defense-industrial capacity and reduce its ability to wage war.
