Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported on his work in the Kharkiv region, where he spent two days visiting units in areas with an increased threat of enemy offensive actions.
‘I am not ignoring any section of the front, especially those sections where there is a threat of new enemy offensive actions,’ he said in a Facebook post.
Syrsky worked together with the commander of the Joint Forces, Major General Mykhailo Drapati, commander of the Khortytsia Joint Forces Operation. According to him, Ukrainian soldiers repelled more than 60 assaults in the South Slobozhanskyi direction last week, and fighting continues daily, with about ten battles per day.
The commander-in-chief said that he had studied the operational situation in detail on site, discussed ways to strengthen the stability of the defence with the command of the Armed Forces and National Guard units, identified the priority needs of the military, and gave instructions for resolving problematic issues.
‘The Russians are trying to overwhelm us with numbers, but we must be on guard and use effective tactical and technological solutions to prevent the invaders from advancing,’ Syrsky emphasised.
