In the highlands of the Carpathians, winter weather conditions persist despite the calendar spring. On Mount Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi, the temperature dropped to -8 °C last night, with snow, fog, and strong winds reported.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
According to rescuers, these conditions drastically reduce visibility and increase the risk of hypothermia and disorientation. Tourists are urged to refrain from venturing into the highlands, check the weather forecast, register their routes, and carry the necessary equipment and communication devices.
According to meteorologist Ihor Kibalchych, precipitation is expected in Ukraine tomorrow, April 22: rain mixed with wet snow overnight in the northern part of the Left Bank, and light rain during the day in the western and central regions. No significant precipitation is expected in the southern part.
Nighttime temperatures will range from 0 to +5 °C, with frosts down to -3 °C possible in most regions. During the day, temperatures will rise to +8 to +13 °C, and in the northeast, to +3 to +8 °C.
Winter weather will persist on Mount Pip Ivan: from -6 °C at night to -3 °C during the day, with snow.
