Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Vladimir Putin’s recent statements clearly demonstrate his unwillingness to end the war. He stressed that Russia’s threats to maritime ports and freedom of navigation — aimed primarily at Odesa — will have consequences if the Kremlin continues its escalation.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on the latest public statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that the Kremlin is showing no signs of readiness to stop the war. As Sybiha pointed out, yesterday Putin declared he was “ready to fight all winter,” and today he is already issuing threats against maritime ports and freedom of navigation.
According to Sybiha, these threats are directed above all at Odesa — a city that U.S. President Donald Trump “spoke about with great warmth.” He warned that if Moscow once again dismisses international efforts and “spits in the world’s face,” it will face consequences.
The Foreign Minister stressed that Russia must stop the bloodshed it initiated and must cease “wasting the world’s time that should be the time for peace.” He added that Ukraine fully supports all good-faith efforts aimed at achieving a just peace.
Sybiha also noted that Ukrainian and U.S. teams, together with European partners, have carried out significant work and reached important progress. “Now it is time to compel the source of the war in Moscow to stop it,” the minister concluded.
