Russian troops have gained a foothold in another area in Sumy region – near the village of Oleksandriya, located south of the Russian town of Sudzha. This was reported by the DeepState analytical project.
As of 30 May, part of the territory near Oleksandriia has already been designated as occupied, and the rest as a ‘grey zone’. This indicates that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost control over another section of the Ukrainian-Russian border within the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. As recently as 29 May, this area remained under Ukrainian control.
In addition, DeepState confirmed the capture of the village of Yelyzavetivka near Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region by Russian troops and their advance in the area of Hnativka. The ‘grey zone’ near the village of Popov Yar has also expanded.
In the Novopavlivka sector, fierce fighting continues for the village of Bohatyr, where the enemy has made some progress. Some sources, including the Russian and Ukrainian military, report that the village is already fully occupied.
Earlier, on 31 May, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Russian army had significantly intensified its activities in the Zaporizhzhia sector and focused its efforts on the Sumy region border.
