On June 19, Russian drones attacked civilian vessels in the Black Sea. As a result of the strikes, one crew member was killed and five other sailors were injured.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba.

A civilian vessel flying the flag of Panama came under attack. One crew member was killed, while two other sailors were injured. The injuries of one of the wounded are assessed as serious.

A Russian strike also affected a vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Three crew members aboard that vessel were injured.

“This is further proof that Russia is waging war against freedom of navigation, international trade, and global food security. Civilian crews, merchant vessels, and maritime infrastructure that supports humanitarian and export routes are under attack,” Kuleba wrote.
