In the morning, Russian troops attacked a vehicle carrying employees of the Slovyansk Thermal Power Plant who were on their way to work with a drone. Three people were killed in the strike, and another power engineer was injured.
This was reported by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, who expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. According to him, the strike was deliberate and targeted, as the drone operator saw that he was attacking civilians. The minister stressed that this was a war crime and that the issue of the perpetrators’ responsibility would be raised at a meeting of the Coordination Group on Energy Security.
In total, Russia carried out a combined missile and drone attack on 12 regions of Ukraine last night, targeting energy infrastructure facilities. Emergency repair crews have already begun repairing damaged equipment where the security situation allows.
The minister thanked the energy workers for their work and the military for their daily protection of the country.
