Israeli forces have killed one of the last Hamas militants involved in the abduction and murder of Shani Louk, a 22-year-old German-Israeli citizen, during the Hamas attack on the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023.
This was reported by Ynet, citing the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The militant, Tamer al-Sabaa, was a member of the Nukhba elite unit of Hamas’s military wing. On October 7, 2023, he infiltrated Israel and took part in the attack on the Nova festival.
On October 19, 2026, the IDF and Israel’s Shin Bet security agency killed him in an airstrike in the Jabalia area of the northern Gaza Strip.
According to Ynet, four of the five militants involved in Shani Louk’s abduction have been killed, while Mustafa Ala Khatib remains in Israeli custody. Israeli forces had previously killed Mustafa Shahin, Basel Saleh and Atiya Daur.
Shani Louk, a German-Israeli tattoo artist and influencer, was 22 when Hamas militants attacked the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. Following the attack, footage circulated showing her motionless body being transported into the Gaza Strip in a pickup truck surrounded by militants.
On October 30, 2023, Shani’s family was informed of her death. In May 2024, Israeli forces discovered and recovered her body from a tunnel in Jabalia, along with the bodies of other hostages.
Her father, Nissim Louk, commented on the militant’s killing in an interview with Israel Hayom.
“This is welcome news. We must never stop hunting them down, and they must pay for what they have done,” he said.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas militants and other Palestinian armed groups launched a large-scale attack on southern Israel. According to the United Nations, more than 1,200 people were killed, while another 251 were taken hostage and brought into the Gaza Strip.
One of the targets was the Nova music festival, where militants killed and abducted attendees. Among the victims was 22-year-old Shani Louk, whose body was filmed in a Hamas pickup truck in footage that circulated around the world. In May 2024, Israeli forces recovered her body in the Gaza Strip.
